Tools that run in your browser

Engineering · 3 min · Tommaso · November 2, 2026

Image Studio, Markdown Studio and Password Studio share one principle: processing happens on the user’s device. The server serves files and receives usage statistics and operation results when collection is enabled on that tool’s page.

Images: one at a time

Image Studio decodes images and draws them on a canvas, preserving their aspect ratio. Exports do not copy original EXIF or GPS metadata. JPEG and WebP support adjustable quality; PNG uses lossless compression. Changing format can also increase file size, so results show both sizes.

Markdown: preview and content

The Markdown parser generates HTML, which DOMPurify sanitizes before displaying it in the preview. Tables and code blocks are supported. Remote images are not loaded in the preview. PDF export uses the browser’s print function.

Passwords: local randomness

Generation uses Web Crypto with unbiased sampling. Passphrases use the EFF English word list. The strength indicator measures the theoretical random generation space. Pasted passwords are checked locally for character properties, without querying external databases.

What is measured

Statistics include actions, parameters, inputs and operation results. For images, only file properties are sent: format, dimensions and size. Passwords, passphrases and image files are never sent. Each tool lets you disable collection.
